The fight against Kenshin causes Sōjirō to remember the day he met Shishio, when he lost all his emotions to kill his adopted family, who tortured him. Sōjirō recovers his emotions, and grows furious to kill Kenshin in order to understand if he or Shishio are right. However, Kenshin wins the fight using the Amakakeru Ryū No Hirameki. Although he loses, Sōjirō discovers the secret of his technique and tells it to Shishio with help from Yumi. As all Juppongatana are defeated, Kenshin prepares to face Shishio. As his sword has multiple points, Shishio is able to create several flames that he uses to attack Kenshin. When Kenshin is defeated, Saitō suddenly attacks Shishio.
